HI, I’m Magic Book Puppy and me and my friend Magic Book Dog are going to blog about this book. The book is about alternate realities where there are multiple versions of the same people.

The book is about a guy name Atticus Higginbottom and his nickname is Tick. We’ll use that because his other name is a mouthful. So, he starts receiving these mysterious letters with riddles in them. And he’s supposed to solve all of them but he can quit any time he wants by burning the first letter.

Along the way he meets other people who are doing the letters with him and some of the friends of the guy who is sending the letters. SQUIRREL!

Sorry about that. Magic Book Puppy gets distracted by squirrels a lot. This is only book one. I’ve read book two and it’s good too.

I’ll give you a better explanation. First of all, there’s not really any super powers at all. And the only sort of super power comes from this guy, whose name is Doug Solomon, whose ability is to mess up electronic devices. For example, street lights flicker whenever he walks by. And his parents are both dead so he lives with his aunt Margaret.

Doug has a friend, who is a GIRL, named Jamie. They are NOT in love. But more like brother and sister. She is very smart and a good hacker.

Roach plans to take over the world by digitizing minds and putting them in his virtual realm. And then he plans to digitize every mind, blow up the surface of the earth, all while he’s safe underground.

One more thing, there are three mystery super hero animals (they don’t have super powers, but still…).

The book is 280 pages long. For ages 10 and up.

I could not find an interesting website to link to. The author’s name is Joel Naftali.

The reason I like The Magnificent 12: The Call is because there’s adventure, and there’s also little funny parts at pretty much the end of every other chapter.  And the funny parts are the gollum’s diary. You’ll find out what a gollum is when you read the book.

The main character is Mack. He has lots of phobias. Like fear of spiders, dentists, and puppets. He’s the first to find out he is one of the Magnificent 12. They are guys with real good magic. They are supposed to find each other and defeat the Pale Queen and her daughter.

Stefan is the bully, but becomes Mack’s friend when Mack saves his life.

And the 3000-year-old man is named Grimluk. He was one of the ancestors of the Magnificent 12.

This book comes out on August 24th, 2010. It is 224 pages long.

This book’s author is Simon Higgins. I just hacked into the Australian top-secret book base where they say that #1, #2, and #3 are already out in Australia. Book one is Moonshadow: Rise of the Ninja. That is what I have. The second book is Moonshadow: Eye of the Beast. Which is some sort of magic Moonshadow has. The third book is Moonshadow: The Wrath of Silver Wolf.

The good guys are Moonshadow, Groundspider, Brother Eagle, Heron, and the Shogun.

The bad guys are Silver Wolf, Deathless, Akira, and Jiro.

And Snowhawk? You’ll have to figure out yourself. And she has a special gift.

Fun Fact: Nanashi, which is in the Japanese language, means “no name.”

You can buy Moonshadow book 1 in June 2010 in America.

Abby goes to this camp to learn magic tricks and she gets picked to go to this super camp with rooms that are really high-tech. This book comes out in May 2010. It is 288 pages long.

The author’s name is David Pogue. I’m searching for his website…No WAY. This is only a website for grown ups (he’s a technology guy for New York Times.) Kids, don’t go to his website or you’ll be sorry if you do (it’s boring.)

The reason I like this book is because it’s a really big mystery and some of it’s kind of weird, actually. And there is also three main characters:

1. Benjamin Pratt. I think he’s going to be the main hero in the series. I’m not really sure yet. And in the story he is kind of confused because a creepy old janitor gives him a gold coin with unusual writing on it.
2. Jill. Jill is a girl who is the only other person who gets let-in on the secret of the gold coin.
3. Robert. He’s kind of a bully because he bullies around anyone who’s doing reports with him. He likes doing extra-credit reports.

The story is about trying to save the school from being torn down and turned into an amusement park. I can’t tell you anything else because I promised the author, Andrew Clements, that I wouldn’t tell anything else.

The first book of Captain Underpants, which is blue, is about two kids that always get into trouble because they like to rearrange letters on signs. For example:

ON THE                                                                   SOCKS FOR

They also make and sell comic books called Captain Underpants. After they cause trouble at a football game, like putting Sea Monkies in the lemonade, and gluing the bathroom door shut, and filling the game ball with helium, and sprinkling pepper into the cheerleader’s pom poms,  the principal gets them on tape with security cameras.

He is going to give the tape to the football team if they don’t obey what his commands are. They do obey his commands until they buy a 3D hypno-ring to hypnotize him.

They trick him into looking at the ring and being hypnotized. They make him give back all the stuff he took away, including the video, and replacing it with a sing-a-long video.

They trick him into thinking he is a chicken, a monkey, and then Captain Underpants! He runs away to fight crime and the two boys run after him. Then when he’s done, they can’t hypnotize him back into thinking he’s the principal.

There are two types of series: The Don’ts series (example: Unicorns Don’t Give Sleigh Rides) and the Do’s series (haven’t read these yet).

The Dont’s series is when one or two people believe that this or that is what they think it is. And the other two or three kids don’t believe.

In the Do’s series, one or two kids believe that it’s what it looks like (like ghosts) and the other two or three don’t believe. And I think they’re right.

They don’t tell you if you’re right or not, though. It stays a mystery.

How the co-authors got the idea for the Baily School Kids: They were elementary school teachers and the students were misbehaving. The teachers wished they could sprout horns and smoke would come out of their nostrils to get their attention. And they got the idea of the Baily School kids from that because they are about people who look like ninjas or vampires.

The Magic Thief is about wizards, magic, and a boy named Conn. The boy, Conn, turned into a cat, but since I don’t like cats, I won’t talk about that. (I chase cats, you know.)

I like The Magic Thief because it has some magic in it, some sword fighting, some really cool bad guys with powers, and big explosions.
